We removed the previous front lawn, a compilation of forgotten succulents and crabgrass.  We restored the area by cleaning up the largest of the succulents and then building a beach-like front lawn of white decomposed granite with a surreal theme.  A dry creek, a footbridge, and a treasure chest completed the project.
